Fourth of July Mantel

Happy Monday, people!! I finally got around to decorating my mantel for 4’th of July. I used stuff I already had on hand to put this together.

I got the U.S.A. letters at Hobby Lobby. I just loved the rustic theme that they had this year!

The red lantern Luke already had….I really don’t know how long he’s even had it. I got the candle holder at Dollar General years ago. Ha!

Favorite Oils for Oil Pulling

So a couple of weeks ago I share with y’all some of my favorite ways to detox- even while I’m pregnant! One of those ways is to oil pull. So today I thought I would share with you the oils I use when I oil pull. πŸ™‚

Oil Pulling

Thieves- this oil is wonderful oil to use while oil pulling! It has amazing cleansing properties and is great for oral health!

Lemon- Talk about amazing! This is so refreshing and lemon is naturally great for detoxing.

Orange- I use this instead of whitening toothpaste. My teeth are always whiter and feel healthier after I oil pull with orange!

How to have a {simple, tasteful & inexpensive} Wedding Reception

Happy Wednesday, all! I know I haven’t posted much….like, at all, but I hope that can change in the coming weeks! Today I want to share with you some tips, tricks and pictures from my simple (but, I think, gorgeous!) wedding reception.

Wdding Reception

First off, let me say that if you schedule your wedding when no one will expect a meal….no one will expect a meal. And that helps you out in the $$$ area quite a lot. Schedule your wedding around 1-3pm if possible. Too late for lunch, too early for supper.

Wedding Reception Donuts

We offered a little bit of a variety of things. We had fresh fruit, donuts, donut holes and scones. And, of course, cake!

Wedding Reception FoodMixing in different decorations in with the food also helps make it seem like there is more than there is. Mix in flowers, books, jars, lace, wood. Whatever fits your style. πŸ™‚

Wedding Reception Flowers

We also used some hanging jars with flowers in them to give it an outdoorsy feel and help draw your attention upward, too.

Wedding Reception Beauty

I loved mixing textures of wood, lace, burlap, flowers and glass. It turned out quite lovely, if I do say so myself. πŸ™‚

What did you serve at your reception? How did you decorate it?

DIY Bath Salts

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I love making gifts for people- especially if its easy and inexpensive!

Today I want to share with you how I make easy- and inexpensive- bath salts to give to friends. And the wonderful part is that there’s no nasty chemicals, colors, or fragrances! It’s all natural and safe. πŸ™‚

DIY Lavender Bath Salts

For this batch of bath salts, I made them lavender. All you need is….

Glass jar (I got this from the dollar section of Target for $1)
Enough Epsom salts to fill the jar
5-8 drops of Young Living’s Lavender oil

Just fill the jar with Epsom salts, add your oil, and ta-da! You’re finished! πŸ™‚ Easy, peasy.

Just think of all the people you could give these to! The possibilities are endless. This may or may not be what I give for Valentine’s gifts this year. πŸ˜‰ But don’t tell anyone!

Valentine’s Day Vignette

Happy Tuesday, everyone! The South has finally warmed up, and it’s actually nice to be outside now! I’m definitely enjoying the sunshine! Today I want to share with y’all my Valentine’s Day Vignette. It’s nothing fancy, but I’ve enjoyed putting it together with things I’ve had on hand. πŸ™‚

Valentine's Day Vases

I’ve had these target vases for years now. Gotta love their dollar section!

Valentine's Day

I love stacking different pieces and textures together! My woodstump, vintage book and Valentine’s Day sign from Hobby Lobby just all go together.

Valentine's Day Love

My amazing man brought home a massive bouquet of flowers a couple days ago…I was able to put some on the kitchen table, and here on the vignette! This figurine is from our wedding– it was our wedding cake topper.

Valentine's Book

This is the book underneath the Valentine’s Vases. I love these poems!

DIY Linen Spray

Happy Tuesday! Who else has freezing weather this week? I’m not really sure how I feel about it….I mean, if it’s not going to snow, please don’t be this cold. Ahem.

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite DIY natural products! I’m all about getting rid of chemical-laden products, and using natural things instead.

DIY Linen Spray

This is super-duper easy to make, and I love having it on hand!

Witch Hazel
8-10 drops of Young Living oil of choice (I used 5 drops Thieves, 5 drops Purification)

Fill the bottom of bottle with witch hazel and the rest of the bottle with water. Add oils, mix well and use!

I love using this on our couch, on non-washable pillows and rugs. I love that it’s purifying the air, and it smells so good…without chemicals!! πŸ™‚
